The "Fallen 44"

As per Merriam-Webster dictionary, "hero" is a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities; a person who is greatly admired. For the past few days, the term "Fallen 44" has been circulating not just on the social networking sites but in the whole Philippines. Fallen 44 is the group of SAF members who were brutally murdered in Mindanao. They sacrificed their selves to protect the country's peace.
When I was young, being a soldier is on the last number of my what-I-want-to-be list. Though I think I can kill people, the reason why I don't want to be a soldier is because I don't want to die without saying goodbye to my loved ones. For that, I respect them not just as a soldier but a person who courageously left their families to protect them from greater threats.
They fought bravely for their selves, their family and for the country. Salute to Fallen 44! May your legacy remain to every Filipino in this world
