If ever I will be given a chance to speak to a historical figure, I would choose the Ex-president of the Republic of the Philippines, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos. Most Filipinos hates him just because he implemented Marshal Law that caused deaths of many Filipino citizens. In spite of those hate against him, he still brought the Philippines into whole new level. During his regime, Philippines is one of the most prosperous countries in Asia. I want to know about all his plans for the Philippines.
If I'm going to meet him, I want this to be the scene.
Scene: I was sentenced to die and I'm gonna meet him in my execution.
Me: President Marcos! I've been waiting for you!
Marcos: Well I'm not waiting for you.
Me: I want to ask you so many questions! Can you answer all of it before I die?
Marcos: uhh... Let me think.... Very well, after all you'll going to die soon.
Me: What are your other plans for the country? If some are saying that you're the worst president ever, why is it that the Philippines became prosperous during your regime?
Marcos: One thing I want is not chaos but the citizens brought it upon themselves. If only they didn't resist and turn against me then there will be peace and even more prosperity. Everyone is so self-centered that they thought I am stealing away their freedom. What I really is for the Philippines to prosper.
Me: You have a point Mr. President. If only they didn't go against you, then I think there will be less casualties.
Marcos: I just want to build a future where the Philippines is on the top of the world. Surpassing every country in the world. I want us to become successful and powerful but they shattered my dreams and hopes for this country.
Me: Someday, Mr. President, If I will be given a chance to live again, I want to become a president like you. I want us to rise to the top of this world's stage. I will continue your plans even it means abandoning myself.
Marcos: Don't become like me, be someone who is better!
Then after that conversation, I was executed and died with a smile on my face.
